Smile more on juicing

I watched "48 hours" on raw foods, last week and decided I would make some raw soup. We could not eat it. ( my husband lets me use him as a guina pig )It was soooooo bitter. So, I took the pulp and added some Nayonnaise and made a spread, put it on a piece of rye bread and it tasted like a tuna fish sandwich....lol. It was really good.

I need to know what ruined the soup? Here are the ingredients.( I used my juicer)

lg. handfull of romain lettuce
slice of purple onion
med. potatoes...2
celery w/leaves....4
carrot..............1
cherry tomatoes....5
broccoli........1 stalk/ the broc.flowerettes size of a saucer
zuccini......1/2...about 4inches long

I am probably on the wrong board but I needed Elizabeth2 to read this.

i'm guessing the celery, especially the celery leaves caused the bitter taste.

here's something i've made and really liked that tasted a lot like tuna. it's raw except for the canned chickpeas i used.

mash up some chickpeas and add chopped celery and sweet onions, lemon juice, and optional nutritional yeast, paprika and black pepper. stir it up and then stir in some nayonnaise or veganaise. major yum.

Hey, hope you do not give up on experimenting with raw food recipes just because the soup didn't turn out good. I have found that soups are the hardest to make, for some reason they just do not come out well. But 75-90% of my diet is now raw, and I have great success with lots of other things. Fruit puddings or smoothies are very easy and fun, and can be made using the blender, some water, some cut-up apples, pears, bananas, coconut, flax seeds, pitted dates, raisins, papayas, and any other combo you can think of. I sprinkle them with shredded coconut and raisins and store what I do not eat in the refrigerator for a treat, or breakfast, or dessert.

Yum-Yum, Rage, this am I juiced 4 bananas, 1 orange and 3 gala apples, for us and because of the bananas, it was like a smoothie. Soooooo good.
No, I wont give up I will just leave out celery leaves next time...lol

I didnt cook it...lol That was the point of juicing.

I am a raw food person, 95% because I do have cooked
organic oatmeal once in a while.
