Acupuncture, Finding a good doctor is a hit and miss ordeal. Sometimes your
lucky and find a good one on your first try, and sometimes you would have been better off not going.
My first trip was interesting, and this lady liked to use lots of needles, easy
120 of them. Being I'm not a needle lover, along with the needles she used cupping, that was the most painful thing I ever let someone do to me. And never would I ever subject myself to that again. After a few times with the needles, you get use to them and your concentrating on your breathing while the needles are going in, it starts to be good thing and you look forward to it.
It's different thing for different folks, the same goes for treatments.
I've been to two doctors that believe the same result can be had with 20 or less needles. I got NO benefits at all from either of their treatments.
The acupuncturist I use that loves needle treats the whole body at one time along with special needs (knee's, lower back). It was hard getting use to the longer needles that go into the stomach and other organs. The worst were in the bottom of the feet, just like stepping on a tack.
Can't tell you how long it's going to take for your problems, because of all the
different reasons and treatments. But it sounds like your on the right track with the Buddhist, meditation.
