That depends on what specific supplement you're talking about. For example, herbs such as St. John's Wort and Ginkgo Biloba require a few weeks of daily use before you notice the results, though it can vary from person to person. Other herbs such as Valerian or Kava will give you the effects only minutes after first taking them. Ginseng is an example of a little of both. You would probably feel something when first taking it but the effect gets better with prolonged use. BTW, don't take Kava unless you KNOW your liver is in good health. Kava is probably safe for most people if used as directed but it's shown to be dangerous for those with even the slightest liver problems. And not all liver troubles show symptoms. Just something to think about because Kava is a very popular herb and for good reasons.
I haven't been feeling well for the past year. A neurologist told me that my symptoms could be due to a virus. So I just started taking a V.R.U.S. formula. It contains: echinacea purp. root, hibiscus flower and goldenseal herb. With that I'm also taking capsules of bacterial cultures.
