I had heard a couple months ago some famous Hollywood types were starting to use this ancient healing process. Then I saw a small explanation on a tv show. Does anyone know the benefits of this procedure?

cupping in the east sence help unblock qui blockages, is promote cirulation, draw out clod, heat, damp and qui/blood stagnation ( toxins).

it is said that if you cup the medial bladder channel is like taking vit C.

and it's not bruses, they are cup marks, the darkness indicates the amount of toxin/stagnation

Cupping is both an Arab and Chinese medicinal technique. I have done it once by an Arab doctor who studied in China... a combination of both..lol

Well... I fainted when it was performed on my back.. and I kept fainting that morning... it was terrible!

My friends have done also but most haven't experienced the fainting part!

In the Muslim countries, cupping is believed to cure many diseases and even improve your memorization capacity if performed on the head (u have to shave though). There are some narations where the Prophet himself had performed cupping and has encouraged people to do so!
