Question tests for causes of depression?

i'm fed up with being down, so i'm taking control. i have tried herbs and stuff to treat my depression but there always seems to be something not quite right under the surface. this leads me to think that there is some underlying cause for my depression. so, what things should i get checked? i'm thinking vitamin and mineral deficencies? iron? b-vits? vit C? underactive thyroid? amino acid deficency? food intolerances? any other suggestions? how would i get these checked? the doctor? a naturapath? i always assumed that it was soemthing i just developed but i'm now thinking there could be just a simple cause. what do people reckon???

I think checking all the above is helpful, as I know some of them have helped me. But it's my "brain chemistry" that's keeping my mood down.

Haven't found a solution for that yet.

Good luck in your search!
