hi everybody. Can someone please give me suggestions on something that will help my body to relax. I am not looking for a herb(s) that will put me to sleep but I have nervous tension throughout my day, then my back and shoulder tighten up, I start to feel hot, etc. Does anyone have any ideas?thanks
I would suggest you try a Calcium Magnesium supplement. You can get a cal/mag supplement you dissolve in hot water for quick absorption. They work well to relax muscle tensions.

Re: Herb To Help Me Relax
if you think that the cause is related to worries then i'd recommend rescue remedy.
i'd second the mag/ calcium supplement. a lack of calcium can lead to the symptoms of being unable to relax physically or mentally. magnesium is the anti-stress mineral. make sure the supplement is well balanced containing twice as much calcium to magnesium (this is the perfect balance for taking the two minerals in tandom).
also, the b-vitamins are very useful for such problems. pantothenic acid (B-5) in particular is very useful as it has a strong tension relieveing effect. try taking 500mg timesd release of it with 100mg timed release B-complex with breakfast. may take the bs a couple of week to kick in properly but stick with it. hope it helps.
A product called Calm Forte, 5-HTP, Rescue Remedy, Magnesium (for muscle aches), B Vitamins, and of course, exercise. All work for me. Chamomile tea works for some, but I can't stand the taste. Stress, air pollution, and diet can affect the nervous system. It would be helpfulto use blood purifier herbs such as red clover, alfalfa, catnip, parsley, ginger, garlic, dandelion and psyllium. Amino acids such as valine, methionine, and tryptophan (5-HTP). You can supplement with fish oil capsules or primrose oil capsules. I have also used passion flower tincture, and skullcap tincture when it gets really tense.
