Do acupuncturist's like you to tell them EVERYTHING? - Alternative Medicine Message Board

hm,

Well I am going monday for first time to see this new acupuncturist chic. I am going to give her a piece of paper with all of my health problems listed on it. I feel bad because I am going to put some weird stuff on it. For example,I am writing down on the piece of paper that when I go outside at times that the vibrations in my head get really stronger and my whole head starts to feel numb and gets extreme pressure. I have vibrations in my whole body and head all the time,but sometimes when I go outside they get stronger along with the extreme pressure/numbness. It may sound weird, but this just happened to me last night.

Do they like to know everything thats going on? Is there a point where they say, "ok I can only treat this and this"

i'd appreciate thoughts on this..

I'd tell her whatever you can think of - if she says "I can't treat X but we can definitely work on Y" then at least you know

also it could have been Y that you weren't going to tell her and she's not going to treat what she doesn't know about

ugh,

I had to reschedule my appointment again with her. I was suppost to go this past monday,but she was in a horse accident. I was suppost to go today,but she hurt worse then before and has a few cracked ribs. I can hardly stand to wait.

I feel so crappy. I dont even think a list is enough..

Like all healers, I am sure the more information you can give them, the more they may be able to help you.

But a good acupuncturist knows his limits and will tell you what he can or can't do. For example, I broke my wrist some years ago, didn't know about it (thought it was a bad sprain) and went to an acupunturist. He didn't know if it was broken or just badly sprained and told me that he couldn't guarantee his treatment would heal it completely, just that the pain would be alleviated. And it was.
