| Re: Dry skin driving me crazy
Dry skin is usually a sign of omega 3 deficiency. (Look up dry skin and omega 3 in a search engine if you want). it does take a month or so to see affects, but I use fish oil reguarly and with all the other benefits of improved mood, energy, concentration, ect. and low cost it can't be beat. I also have nice, supple skin.
Until then, use olive oil on the dry parts. I use it on my face every night before bed and it works great.
Omega 3 is an essential fatty acid that most people don't get enough, so it is important to get this even if you think it won't help with dry skin (although others can attest that it does work with dry skin).
About the flax, fish oil is far more absorbable in the body than flax. Your body can only convert 5-15% of flax into EPA and DHA, hardly enough to fix this situation. Take at least 6-10 grams a day of 180EPA/120DHA. Fish oil has only omega 3's while flax has (after absorbtion) about the same amount of omega 3 and omega 6. You don't need any more omega 6, try to get the least amount as possible as the standard american diet already has far more than you could ever possibly need.
