Re: what is a natural alternative to xanax

I believe xanax is a valuim medication. A natural herbal med that acts similar to valuim is valerian. Valerian is a muscle relaxant and most people use it for sleep. I use it occasionally myself for sleep problems and it works well for me.

The dose is generally 2 capsules before bed, but you could probably use it during the day also. - It's very gentle and I think you could still go about yoru daily activities without drowsiness. As I understand it, it is a very safe herbal supplement.

Also a product called "Calm".... it is Magnesium in powder form. I am sure u could find it online and also at some health food stores. I use it and it does relax.... Magnesium and Calcium are very good for relaxation of muscles.

Chamomile tea is relaxing and some people think Kava is good... also something called Holy Basil.

L-theanine, an amino acid, can be helpful.

Rescue Remedy is also good for a general calming feeling. It isn't strong.

KAVA is the best for anxiety--has been proven to be just as effective as the benzo's--without the side effects! and it's not addictive! also, gaba, valerian, 5htp, st. john's wort, taurine, theanine, b-complex, calcium with magnesium, passion flower, rhodiola and ginseng.

Re: what is a natural alternative to xanax

well, all of those are great. I am allergic to Valerian.
I like kava, chamomile, passion flower, California poppy.
some are those are in tinctures, capsules, teas.
also breathing, costs nothing and is the hardest thing for me to do,
sitting up feet flat on the floor, head and arms comfortable, close my eyse and breath, in through the nose out through the mouth, and one hand on my lower belly to make sure I am breathing from my diaphragm.
there is a ton of stuff out there. I have and am still finding what works for me. I wish you luck!
