Re: danger mixing medicinal herbs with prescription drugs
You must be careful and consult your doctor before mixing herbs with prescription medicines. Many herbs and gels cause blood thinning. Read the jars and see if they imply this. If you take too many things that thin the blood like vit E, fish oils, aspirin, msm, even glucosamine and chondroitin, ginko biloba, and others, you can have internal bleeding. A tell tale sign is blood "hickies" on your hands and arms that indicate broken capillaries. Herbs are like drugs in a way so you must be careful what you take. Research each thing you take, especially if you are on prescription medicines. You would be surprised what some of these do. Some supplements can raise blood pressure and some can raise blood sugar. Glucosamine can do that in some people. Always be cautious about pills you take--even vitamins.
