Cool Arnica to reduce bruising??

Hi! I am getting nose surgery done next month, I know there is going to be bruising around and under my eyes, and i'm looking for ways to reduce the swelling faster. I have heard Arnica Gel (i think it comes in a pill form too) can greatly reduce bruising. My surgeon even recommended it... Has anyone ever heard of this or used Arnica? Does anyone know any other tips or tricks to reduce bruising faster? I am also told that pineapples may help (due to the bromelain) and of course reducing sodium in my diet. (which will be hard b/c i know i eat WAAY too much sodium) Anyway.. any other advice would be greatly helpful.. I can only take 10 days off of work, so i am looking to be presentable by then =) Thanks everyone!!

Re: Arnica to reduce bruising??

Arnica is great to reduce bruising! It comes in both gel and homeopathic pellets. I highly recommend using both immediately after your surgery (it's not bad to use them a few days prior as well). The sooner you get the gel on your face after surgery, the less bruising there will be. The pellets are a homeopathic remedy so they are 100% safe and won't have any effect at all on whatever medication they have you on in the hospital.

Re: Arnica to reduce bruising??

Arnica not only takes away the brusing but also the pain and soreness associated with surgery.

Take it a half hour before surgery and every 45 min. to an hour after surgery for 6 hours. Then 4 times daily. Take at least 30X potency.
