coconut oil

I was told to get extra virgin coconut oil. It's more expensive but well worth it. I think it is pretty amazing stuff. I have yet to cook with it,but use it as a face moisturizer and deep hair conditioner. I have very dry skin and scalp, and it is the best I have found. You only use a very small amount, and in the shower, put on the ends of hair, let the steam penetrate your scalp, and wash it out. My skin is very smooth and soft, since using the coconut oil.

Re: coconut oil

You should also look into it for your teeth. Oil Pulling. It has made my teeth so much better. My hygienist asked me what I was doing?

UNREFINED. ONLY. Go organic for the cleanest, imo.

I use it in my coffee, on toast/crackers, on my dog, in his food, on my dry skin. It is the best oil to cook with.

It once got a bad rap from the Corn Oil industry. Corn. Name three things that are GOOD about that: makes cattle fat, makes people fat, is now genetically modified to make its own RoundUp fertilizer even in your intestines.

Trust me. Coconut oil is even good for BRAINS. For they NEED fat. GOOD fats. And this one is A GOOD FAT!!

Re: coconut oil

Greetings! I would not use it in winter time internally! (at least very little) The reason is because coconut oil turns to solid at room temperature or colder. If a person has partially blocked heart arteries and the body temperature goes down it has a potential to thicken blood or harden in arteries during cold in my opinion leaving potential to give a heart attack while shoveling snow. And in my opinion this can happen with any other oil, butter or grease that hardens with the refrigerator! Sugar can cause clumping also. Peace sjb

Re: coconut oil

You really ought to get your feet wet and try CO. I use it to saute chicken and
shrimp, and it's delicious just as a spread in place of butter. Just one caution.
In spite of the claims that it doesn't add to weight gain--it definitely does. When I
started on CO, I was probably a little too enthusiastic, and I put on several pounds right away. So, moderation is the key. I've also just started oil pulling with CO.
Too soon to see what effect it will have on dental health.

Re: coconut oil

If you are using CO on your hair, just know that if you also color your hair, it
strips the color rather effectively. So use it BEFORE you color.
