I am post menopause and my doctor informed me that my estrogen & progesterone are low. But I want to take natural supplements or vitamins/herbs instead of a prescription. Any advice is much appreciated.
I am also post-menopausal and I use a progesterone cream that is bioidentical compounded by my pharmacy. You can also buy it over the counter, it is just weaker but I have used that kind too. It helps with hot flashes and relaxation so I can sleep alittle better. Do not use the prescription drug Premarin because I believe it is not safe. However, estrogen is the only thing that will help vaginal dryness associated with menopause and low sex drive but I cannot use estrogen cream because it gives me migraines. I have discovered soy. It converts to estrogen in the body and seems to help in that area somewhat, so I drink vanilla or chocolate soy milk or eat soy nuts. Hope this helps abit.
Just a suggestion, if you are going to eat soy be sure it is fermented and organic. Please. So much of it is Genetically Modified and there have BEEN no tests on what it does inside of human stomachs/digestive systems.
I stopped my creams. Didn't care for them.
