Ok,
so my grandpa has alzheimers, i was wondering what the chaces of other people in my family getting it are? What is the yougest age that alzheimers can start?

There is no simple answer, especially when you do not say if he is the only family member w/AD, what about his parents, siblings, what age was the onset? Type 'Alzheimer's + genetics' into 'search' and you'll find a lot of info. The youngest I've heard of was 29, it is not just an old man's disease. People can have it for decades before it even becomes apparent, so there's little need to worry too much if you're still relatively young. You can live quite nicely for a long, long time before it becomes a serious problem.

He is the only person in my family that i know of having it.

Is he your maternal or paternal grandfather? Are you male or female?

There is a growing body of research as to genetic connections. If your grandfather has a confirmed diagnosis of probable AD, you might wish to have an AD research center do a family history on him and follow his case. The more we patients and care-partners participate in this research, the more quickly a cure or efficacious treatment can be found.

im a male, he is my maternal grandfather, also what risks is my mother at?
