Rare Early Alz: Plz Help!!!!

Hello
May be you have constraints in reading/replying to my mail but if you can advice anything, may be its going to be a life-saving effort. I have some querries at the bottom if you can help me with.
CASE : RARE EARLY AGE (36) ALZHEIMER WITH NO FAMILY HISTORY
Experience with Alzheimer at so early age is no less than a worst dream & I am just trying to get max help in order to manage it, the best we can. My brother is struggling everyday with his life- Life which is ending even before it could have started. He was having insurance earlier & then doctors made preliminary diagnosis of Alzheimer. Now unfortunately we cant afford it in the best way. I really want to know like what exactly went wrong & where- To make happen a life end even before starting, going meaningless at a so early age. I hope you can imagine the agony.

CASE HISTORY ( As diagnosed)
Personality : Over sensitive to handle real life harsh situations, not reacting to people, just keeping frustration inside & that after sometime resulting in stressful psycho disorders
1989-91 :: Depression leading to Anorexia Nervosa..
1992-95 : Acute OCD - Compulsions of running after random people, meeting them & getting their details. Then picking up waste things from anywhere. Even like picking garbage stuff.
1996-99 : Bipolar & Delusions ( Don’t know exact term)- All the time getting over- conscious & concerned about matters related to health..Like in being in smoky envoirnment for sometime, used to feel like a major lung problem is cropping & the series of physician visits. All the time for years over tensed & pre-occupied mind state
But then it all went off for next 2 years. Though brain weakness as result of last 12 yrs problems was evident : Loss/weakness of brain abilities like slow memory/thinking.

2000-2004- Emotional trauma, ASD, Panic phases : State of last 4-5 yrs being in long/ extreme emotional trauma, followed by irrational thoughts, panic & compulsive episodes. Started with series of unexpected betrayals from his most closest friend -like daily getting worst shocks of his life. Went on for 9-10 months, one day met with a severe accident breaking his pelvic bone. Mind at guilt filled & weak state. Landed in worst disorder of his life which spanned next 4 yrs—Total brain dead. Doctors diagnosed it as a complex mix of ASD (Bipolar/OCD,Panic attacks etc)..Mind started making firm unrealistic beliefs, compulsive but impossible to be acted upon as in OCD. Hard to imagine the fearful/unbalanced state of mind- With you believing that you are the weakest on this earth with highest guilt feeling & but every sec doing the biggest sin/exception that even the strongest never did/can't do. Acts that are causing un-repairable inconsistency in the God's made Universe. Just unlimited & uncertain fear/tension with you remaining in long stressful periods. Even the worst physical torture or fear of a big army finding you would have been less for him than this mental turmoil.
SYMPTOMS ;
Before 2000 : Poor short term memory & difficulty in learning new. like It was getting difficult for him to read a page 2-3 times & recall it. Poor spatial memory like he was forgetting the most common routes. Pain over & around the ears area. Going totally blank/absentminded a lot times in a day and mind getting fatigued
After 2000 : Difficulty holding any thought or steps. Like he knows any simple procedure but cant tell. Very poor short term & working memory like forgets to switch off burner/gas etc, Confusion above limit like he is just dumb & if asked to think on anything, he takes really long time to concentrate & reply, Facing difficulty & confuse on operating simple things, Language probs like framing sentences or finding right words ,Logical & reasoning abilities have gone too down, Personality gone very agitated. Thinking and brain functioning seems like totally blocked. Feeling of numbness in brain areas.

QUERRIES:
Qs. Its now 9-10 months that he is out his stressful, insane & fearful episodes. Also in support, in some medications, cortisol levels normal etc but the symptoms & cognitive abilities are progressively worsening at an unexpected rate. Doctors diagnosed it as a reliable profile for early/moderate alzheimer’s. The unfavourable factors- MRI not showing any major damage & the age factor. What exactly this can be?

Qs. Can still it be something other than permanent and acute neuro-degenrative damage & still in the recovery range. What exactly can be the confirm signs of progressive permanent brain damage?. Can anything psycho mimic even advanced Alzheimer symptoms, though still not Alzheimer?

Qs. How far can history of rare & extreme psycho stress disorders (rare OCD, Bipolar, Depression, Other ASD etc) can trigger/transform into a progressive damage of ALZ type at a so early age (irrespective of any family history). May be the foundation of this dates back to his long stressful history (13-15 yrs), though noticeable symptoms appearing in last 3-4 yrs only. Whats your opinion?

Qs. Last 10 months after we have moved to Chicago ( a much colder place), his state is worsening at faster rate (apart from memory loss). Dizziness, extreme confusion & no presence of mind are his symptoms. I have studied - prolonged high cortisol levels make blood-brain barrier & cerebral circulation a lot weak. Is it becoz of cold & his already weakened brain ? Is he like experiencing frequent silent strokes etc ?. HE JUST COMPLAINS OF ACUTE NUMBNESS AROUND TEMPORAL REGION ( LIKE DEAD LUMPS OF FLESH INSIDE BRAIN) ? Any best diagnostic/recovery option for this

Qs. MRI done a year back showed some lesions only. Where MRI stands in comparison to PET if one can’t afford it & also where CT Scan stands?. What should be typical results of MRI in ALZ/Perm damage ?. Is neuro-psycho testing the only reliable way to diagnose ALZ/ Permanent damage. May be the age factor (36) is creating a point of doubt, though inside there can be residing a real extreme physical damage. Is there a chance that you be in above threshold limits of stress for over long time & still imaging reports not showing acute organic damage?

Qs. Any knowledge of documented record of so early onset Alzheimer caused/progressed this way (no familial aspect involved) ?. What is referred by shrinkage/atrophy in brain areas. I think it is in comparison to your earlier scans. But what if someone hasn’t undergone periodic scans- then how to detect if one has a shrinkage or not ?. Also is it there for sure if you have severe dementia/problems like this ? What best drug combination/lifestyle can work in this stage ?. Any best source for online consultation/support groups?. Can the ALZ drugs be taken even in the absence of definitive diagnosis ?

I CAN ALSO SEND YOU HIS DETAILED CASE HISTORY WHICH YOU CAN READ ANYTIME IF YOU FEEL LIKE & CONVINIENT .

Thanks

Reply as per your convenience
Have a wonderful time ahead………Andrea

Hi SnowyLynne63
If you were diagnosed at 58 how old are you now???? You seem to be doing very well.
What do they have you on?? My cousin is 55 and was diagnosed at 53 and had it for a couple of years then. She's not doing too bad but I don't think she could use the computer. She has good and bad days of course. I guess everyone is different. Some deteriate quicker than others. The doc seems to think she may need full supervision in 1 year and may not know us in 5 years. How can he tell this??? Her husband just registered her with the Alzheimers Society for a bracelet because she has gone walking and forgotten her way home a few times. It's hard to tell if she really knows what I'm talking about sometimes but I just go on and on anyway as I used to with her. She can have conversation but has trouble putting words together. Conversations are short. Often though she'll tell me something and I later find out it is not so, but then again sometimes she tells me something and I don't believe it and sure enough it is true. So sometimes she remembers short term stuff. It is such a strange disease. I planted flowers in her yard and phone her and and she told me she watered them. I'll find out. Do you manage on your own?
Thank you for your input
