My FIL lives in a senior apt. complex adjacent to a nursing home. There are several men there who have wives in the nursing home. Anyway, one of the guys was a friend of my FIL's, they used to eat together, he even took Russell out to eat a few times. He would always go and visit his wife, who has AD. Now I didn't know this man has AD too until today. They moved him out of the complex and moved him into an assisted living facility - plus he is banned from visiting his wife, WHY? Because he went over to see her and BEAT HER UP! How sad. This disease is so terrible.

Your post demonstrates how AD patients often have no impulse control. It often displays itself in the early stages. There is so much under lying anger, frustration and hostility that most of us experience dealing with this horrible disease, but we can keep it under control. Of course, the wife has to be protected, but he is probably angry that she is not with him or something to that effect. You are right, it is a very, very sad situation.
