Unhappy BP, Heamaglobin and white cell count.

Hi All

My husband Brian is in hospital at the moment. He has Alzheimer's and a heart problem. Then he got pnuemonia on his right lung and they admitted him.

He then caught MRSA while in hospital... and now has caught another bug causing severe diaorrhoa and vomiting. Now I am told his BP has dropped to 90 over 43 and white cell count has dropped and his heamaglobin is down to 7.

My question is ... Is the heamaglobin, white cell count and BP due to the Alzheimer's or the bugs or a heart condition? Anyone got any ideas??

Re: BP, Heamaglobin and white cell count.

Hi. You caught my attention with MRSA. My neice was diagnosed with it a few years ago after a routine hospital procedure. I wish I could contact her now but I can't. She would probably be able to answer your questions. She works in the medical field.

As I recall, her white blood cell counts were extremely high due to the infections she was fighting (MRSA). MRSA is a staph infection that's resistant to many antibiotics. What, if anything, it has to do with hemoglobin and low bp, I don't know.

I wish I could have been of more help to you but there are others here who are much more knowlegable than I.

Good luck and best wishes to you and your dear husband.

Love, Barb
