except when I try to get her up and take a walk out of her room and down the hall. We take a few steps from her bed and all of a sudden she acts weak and disoriented and I have to physically set her down on the bed because I'm afraid she is going to fall over. I'm not a big person and I couldn't hold her up if I tried.

The nurses and aides at the NH assure me that they have not come across this kind of incident with themselves. In fact, she often walks out of her room and up to the nurse's station to tell them she has to use the bathroom.

Does anyone think it might be a psychosymatic thing where she feels she wants me to baby her? When I'm not there she's fine according to the staff!

I visit every other day; if not every day. Maybe I'm going over too much? The NH is a two-minute walk from my house so I couldn't ask for anything more convenient.

I've noticed she sits and pouts about going to get her hair washed..just like a little kid and wants me to be there....but I've already been there for almost 2 hours..I can't stay that long! She's even told me that she wishes I was with her all the time, but does realize I can't be.

I'm going to Florida next Thursday (April 24) for a week to visit my brother and family. Mom knows about it and her face lights up when I bring it up. I keep doing so that she doesn't forget, but she probably will.

Notified the staff of my upcoming absence, so all bases are covered, I HOPE!

The worst of this disease is the fact that our LO does not understand what is happening to them. It hurts me to know that she can't understand and is so easily frustrated.
