Hi all,
I went to my first Supportive Spouses group yesterday and amazingly enough, my DH was the only dementia patient. There also was only one other female and she was younger that me but we all had one thing in common...dealing with the loss of our dear spouses. There was quite of bit of discussion for a first meeting so that was nice and I guess this means we are all hopefully on the road to dealing with our grief. Most days are good for me until something pops into my day to remind me of my sweet DH and then I mourn again and move on. I think because dementia is most times a long process, I've had more time to mourn and when the end came, it was a blessing in many ways. I know he is at peace and whole again and I find comfort in that. I just miss his big hugs and unconditional love. He was truly my one and only.
