Mom and Dad and Vacation

Yes, I am having a fantastic vacation I have only had one emergency call from home. It was concerning Dad..... let's just say more of the same. Mom agitating Dad until he become uncontrollable. He got upset with a resident but I am sure it was because of something Mom told him. He got upset because his wallet was missing but it was because Mom misplaced it and then wanted money that he didn't have to give her. Finally they "escaped". It was Mom that found the "emergency button" and she took Dad with her. The administrator wanted to admit him for med eval but wanted to send him through the same process as Mom and he would end up at a BAD psych unit and not the good one Mom was in so I spent a morning on the phone but I squelched that idea quickly. Dad's had a medication change and he is finally being moved out of the room with Mom. It will happen this week. Sister 2 is doing a good job of handling things while I am not there. I am sure she will be exhausted when I get back home.... and more appreciative of what I do. Sister's 3 and 4, as usual, have done nothing but question what is happening. I am keeping in touch with Sister 2 by phone but between times I am body boarding, snorkeling, hiking, swimming, going out to eat, and enjoying every minute of my time here. I don't want to go home but I will jump right back into my routine when I do get home next week. I have figured out that the world continues to turn even if I do take a vacation!!!

Love, deb

Re: Mom and Dad and Vacation

I'm so glad you are having such a wonderful time...I have been keeping up with all of your adventures...including this latest one with your parents and your mother, who true to form, has achieved the great escape. I am sorry you had to deal with this..that it had to break into the bubble of your vacation but it got handled and good for your sister!!

You so deserve this time away.
Have fun...

Love, Meg

Hi Deb!
Good for you going on vacation and enjoying yourself! Don't even think of them, let sister 2 handle it, you really deserve a vacation (we all do!). You'll be back soon enough. As I like to say, Carpe Diem (seize the day!)

Aloha Kepi,

Thank goodness you were able to enjoy a wonderful vacation!!!
Sometimes, I think we can be surprised when we are not there to take care of things that some how others do step up to help. I think when they know we are going to do it they step back and let us do it, but when it comes down to that your not here to do it then they will do it. Not sure if this made any sense to you Deb???? I am just so glad things went well for your vacation and that you could depend on sister to overlook everything for you!!!

love pauline

Re: Mom and Dad and Vacation

You go girl!

It's amazzing that the world continues to turn without us, isn't it? And just when we thought we were so gosh awful important too! One can hope that they will appreciate what you put up with and go through, but in reality they will probably just breath a sigh of relief that you are back and go back to their own life! <<<shaking head>>>

Go ahead and do a data dump and continue to enjoy the sun and the sand and pretend that no one back here knows you or needs you. What a novel idea! Rest up, I get the feeling that you will need it...
