Magnesium to help with Memory?

Based on a study done last year looks like they found that more magnesium in the brain helps with short term and long term memory.

Anyone believe in this stuff, looks like only the specific magnesium l-threonate helps with increasing magnesium levels in the brain? I am a bit skeptical but looks promising. Anyone have any idea on how magnesium affect the brain? Or even where we can find this stuff?

Re: Magnesium to help with Memory?

I don't think this site allows the other websites. You need to remove them before the adminstrator catches you!!

There is no cure for Alzheimer's so I don't think this will help. I believe one can take vitamins or Q10 and etc. for alternative medicine, but there is no cure. So I would not trust it totally.

Nina

Re: Magnesium to help with Memory?

What Nina said... plus in the study I saw they gave excessive dosages of a particular type of magnesium to rats. Humans are not rats and many of the studies on rodents do not translate to human benefit. Yes we need magnesium and we get it in our daily diet. But as for a cure for ALZ... no way. It is just one of those necessary nutrients that humans need to function properly. So I would not go out and buy a big bottle of magnesium thinking it was going to cure anything

Love, deb
