How fast does ALS progress?

I know that each person will experience progression differently, but on average, what can one expect in the first 3 months of the diagnosis...6 months and even at the one year mark?

Re: How fast does ALS progress?

it really just depends on the person my mom had it probably for about 6 mos to a year before she was dx in April 04 and she passed in Feb 05. She went really fast but the majority of people live anywhere from 2-15 years. Just depends on which part of the body it effects the most. My moms diaphram was effected quickly. I hope this helps!
