In what muscles does atrophy usually start? And what does it look like? Thanks!

Re: Atrophy??

Do you have ALS? my dad is in the late stages now. he started in the right arm/hand. then moved to the left and then his legs. the thing with this diesease is, it starts differently and progresses differently in each person. my dad has NO use of either arm or hand but can move his legs. he has NO strenght in them, but can move them.

my dad is only 59 and very frail and thin. he looks like he's 89. he has no muscle tone. he currently looks like a skeleton with skin. this is a terrible disease. fortunely for my dad it happened quickly. he was diagnosed in may and will not live but a week or two.
