Hi-I am new to the board, and I'm beginning to get really anxious and depressed that my symptom are als! I'm a 49 year old female and my symptoms have been going on for about 6 months: My biggest concern is my speech which is slurred and difficult to project and my right hand/wrist has some weakness. I've had a normal mri, thousands of $'s of bloodwork-all normal, and two emg/nc studies. The last nerve conduction which was in October they said there were some "abnormalities in my hand and arm", but they still don't have a definitive diagnosis. Are the doctors just not telling me the truth that it really is als or is it just that difficult to diagnose? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.
