Unhappy Lies or Dementia

My mum has mnd. She has always told lies. Recently she has come out of hospital and all she does is cause trouble between me and my brother. He said this , she said that. Shes doing it with the carers and nurses too. Its come to the stage when I dont believe anything she says. Ive told her a few times what she says isnt true, but she really beleives that it is true. Im not sure if its lies or if its something else. She told my brother that id visited her for 15 minutes. Id visited for 2 hours. When i mentioned it, she said I know you was here for a while. She makes up what she doesnt know. Im at my wits end. Help

Re: Lies or Dementia

Sometimes there is a dementia part of ALS...From what I was told.

But it could be that it is just an inherent trait in your mother that is amplified by what she is going through. I believe that I observe that whatever "habits" people have that when they get older.. the habits get more intense. I think it is just part of the aging process.. I am sorry for what you are going through.
