bloated abdomen and anemia - Anemia Message Board

Hi

I have come by this site by accident but hope that some one has had a similar exerience with anemia. When I first was diagnosed with anemia one the symptoms included a strange one (bloated abdomen - really bloated like I'm 4 months pregnant) has anyone experienced this?

Dramatic weight loss was another one and I'm having real difficulty getting over thrush (of course the usual tiredness, low red blood cell count)- I have had anemia on and off (mostly on) for over a year now and am really starting to get depressed.

I have just about had every test under the sun and am going to have another one in 5 weeks - I am so over feeling sick.

Hi, Did they check for B levels?

FYI - men beer drinkers get a deficiency i think in thaiamin a b-vitamin -something to do with the excesive yeast intake in the beer it zaps the body of that nutrient. There are similar diseases in Africa there are two that cause the stomach to protrude one is excesive malnutrition and another is from parasites. I hope this helps. Take care.
