Bindy15, I agree with you-getting tired of thinking about "iron" all the time and what foods have lots of iron, etc.
But, at least we don't have lots of anemia symptoms, right?
My hemoglobin is 9.1, hemotacrit is 28.0, and ferratin is 2.
I started taking the iron supplements about two weeks ago, and not tolerating them very well. Yesterday, I asked my family dr. if there was any way to take them where I wouldn't get that queasy feeling. She advised me to eat breakfast first, but then wait for 1-2 hours then take my iron tablet with a little orange juice. She told me to do the same thing at night after dinner. This way, I already have food in my stomach, so I shouldn't get queasy, but there won't be any iron absorption problem because I've waited 1-2 hours to take the tablet. I hope this works!
