iron supplements and anxiety

Hi all,
I am new here and this is my first post.
I am 46 y old female with hypothyroidism and low iron / ferritin. I have to be on iron supplements for long time. My problem is that I get bad anxiety from iron supplements. I have tried different brands and forms, and I always get bad symptoms. I was taking feosol for few weeks without problem, and then I suddenly become weak, faint, a lot of anxiety and panic attacks. I have tried Floradex and other licvid forms, and I get immediately anxiety even after taking smaller dose then recommended.
I would like to know if there is anybody else here that has similar problem.

Have you spoken to your doctor about this. It could be that your blood sugar level is being effected by the hypothyroid condition and that an ingredient in the iron tablet is aggravating it. The stabilizers and preservatives they use to make the medications can cause allergic reactions in some people. Speak to your doctor about this.

Re: iron supplements and anxiety

Oh yes, I have spoken to more then one doctor about this, but when I mention anxiety, they all think the same, it's in your head. I know better then that. I get anxiety from my T4 meds, and I am only taking 1/4 of what I should be taking.
If I take licvid iron, I get anxiety immediately if I take feosol, sometimes I can take it for 2-3 weeks without problem and then suddenly I feel like I was poisoned. Then I had to stop for week or so and go back on it. I have been straggling like this for over a year now. My ferritin is weary low and I cant rase it like this.
My fasting glucose was normal, but I do feel better sometimes after I have something to eat.
I have been changing brands and forms of iron supplements, but it's always the same. I wonder, is it possible to be sensitive to iron itself?
Thank you for responding.
