caffeine

hi there

i recently found out that i'm anemic and so i've started taking iron supplements. (Palafer 300mg, 3 times a day)
i've read that while taking these supplements you should stay away from caffeinated products like coffee. i was just wondering how important this was? and why exactly it is recommending to avoid it?

thanks.

Re: caffeine

I'm also very anemic and take iron 3 times a day. The reason they tell you to avoid any caffeine is because it interferes with the absorption of the iron in your body. I love my coffee but I only will have a cup after I wait 2-4 hours after taking the iron. Good Luck!
