Why do I feel jittery when I'm anemic?

is this a symptom? I get very jittery and shaky. I also feel the typical symptoms but these I don't understand.

I also feel jittery when anemic, and I don't think it's a coincidence to you do too. I'd be interested to hear if others feel that way as well!

anemia may make you cold, so that may cause jittering.

It could be a decrese in blood sugar. I felt this way alot when I was anemic but i was VERY VERY anemic...to where I needed a blood transfusion and was still anemic after that. Im not anemic anymore but still get the jittery feeling and my doc said thats prolly just low blood sugar. If eating helps specially something high in sugars like soda or even natural sugars like cheese, then that might be it and you just feel it more because of your anemia

I'm anemic and right before my period I become very jittery, but not in general.

I have chronic anemia (whatever that means) and I have heart palpitations, and anxiety often. My doctor says anemia can cause these symptoms.

Both times I was low in iron, I was very jittery and restless. I was very cold and couldn't concentrate.

Only my legs get very jittery. Doctor says its not a symtom of anaemia however it can be caused by anxiety and not being in control of the situation. Also I have had similar reactions when on some medications.
