Need your help...Please - Anemia Message Board

I have been taking Iron shots once a week for awhile now but the past month my level has bounced back and forth from 9.5 to 9.7. I am taking Infed i think.He mentioned maybe doing the IV Iron. What other shots are avaliable and have you had any luck with them? I am a little scared of the IV. Any info would be great. Thanks Angie

Hi Angie,
Im not sure about the shots, my heamotologist prefers to use iron infusions rather than injections i have regular iv iron (venofer) without many problems other than feeling a bit off colour for a few days.
Personally, i had more side effects with oral iron.
I use a product called spatone, its a natural source of iron that makes up your daily needed intake of iron that we dont always get through diet.
Try doing a google search on it.
