Low Iron Binding Capacity?

What is iron binding capacity? I am anemic and take three iron pills daily. My recent iron binding capacity was 214 (250-450). What does this mean?

I can't really explain *what* it is but I do know that in iron deficiency anemia, the TIBC is elevated. Yours is below normal which may indicate another condition.
