| Re: Need Help with Bloodwork results
I have hemolytic anemia, and when it's active, I do get a fever - around 100. I always expect the doctors to be concerned about the fever, but as long as I have no other symptoms, they don't usually worry about it. But I do. Even a low grade fever makes you feel bad.
It's good that you're having a bone marrow done -it will rule out many things. The weight loss and fever and higher white count probably means something is going on. Not necessarily cancer, but you could have an infection that needs treatment.
Also, when my anemia was at its worst, I did lose a lot of weight - I had no appetite whatsoever.
Are you getting B12 shots or taking folic acid? You should be, it would make you feel tons better. Won't cure things, but it will help.
What is the treatment plan for you? There is plenty they can do to make you feel better, but maybe they want to rule out everything before they start.
Are you feeling awful?
