Aplastic Anemia - Post treatment

Hi all,

I have a question regarding Post treatment of Aplastic anemia.

If you go the Chemo/immuno-suppressent route of treatment (Not the transplant route) and are in recovery, is your immune system reset?

As in, Will you get chicken pox and measles again and all the colds and flu strains you have become used to? Are you in effect, a little child again?

Please help on this as it is worrying, especially the propensity for H1N1 to attack weakened immune systems or 'young' ones.

No I do not believe it gets reset I have been hospitalized 2 times and soon to be a third they will watch you levels and giveyou transfusions to help you not get infections etc. it can be as long as 3 - 4 months before your counts will be strong enough to go withot transusions. Hope this helps you some
