Re: how long does hair regrowth take once high ferritin levels are reached
Is your ferritin at 97?
The Trichologist (hair/scalp specialist) i saw always said that when ferritin stays at 70 or higher for a period of 3 to 6 months that proper hair growth cycle can then take place eg: growth, resting, shedding phase.
I do remember when my ferritin was in the 40's and i didn't have the hair shedding. Now my ferritin is at 89 when last checked and i still experience my weird shedding cycle. I do have thyroid and hormone imbalance so believe my hair issues are as a result of that and not my ferritin. I also can't miss a day of iron supplements or my ferritin goes down again.
If your ferritin has been at decently high levels for a while i'd say your hair shedding is due to something else. You can be lacking certain vitamins/minerals, stress, thyroid or other hormone issues, birth control pills or other medication.
