Has any one heard of taking Nexium and that causing your Heg, MCV and MCH to decrease? I read it on the Mayo website. You need acid to take in your iron and if you take Nexium it rids your stomache of acid.
It can indeed happne - taking a daily multivitamin with iron would seem like a good insurance policy for anyone taking PPI's long term (if you are taking them for only a few weeks for an accute ulcer, it wouldnt be a problem)
There have been reports in Australia of Vitamin B1 deficiency in people taking daily PPI's long term also.
So.... Take your One a day with Iron every morning!
