Hi all.

First post, so please bear with me.

I was first diagnosed with anemia in March this year, with my Ferritin level at less than 2. Since then, with iron infusions and supplements, I have gone up to 19 - tested on the 14th of this month.

However, something that has been noticeable is the inability to have happy times with the wife - if you know what I mean. Now, I would not call this ED 0 that is not really the issue. The issue is more to do with not 'finishing'.

Please let me know if this topic is not really appropriate, but if it OK, I would like some feedback or at least confirmation that anemia can directly or indirectly cause such a problem. Does anyone know?

Hello Crunchy and welcome. I don't see anything inappropriate about your post. From what I have read Anemia can cause all sorts of problems including the one you have mentioned. Having anemia does make you very fatigued, walking up the stairs was a chore for me. I can see this being a very real issues for males. Hopefully we have some male lurkers that can chime in.

Thanks very much for the reply. When I was very low, I had a lot of problems with short distances that I had no problem with before and even got heart palpitations. Those symptoms have mostly subsided, but the fatigue and 'endurance' issues have remained -probably there all the time, I expect.

Maybe this will help, I'm not sure. I'm a woman and I've been anemic and taking iron for a few months... I found that my libido is very much effected by the anemia.. Before I knew what was wrong with me, I was starting to think I had some kind of sexual dysfunction... I could NOT seem to have an orgasm ever. Now that I've been taking the iron it is much easier and takes less time.

Hi! Thanks for the comment! I have been taking iron ever since I had another dip to less than three in my Ferritin levels. I'm taking 2x325 mg ferrous sulfate along with vitamin c and B12. I'm a bit sad to find that I'm already on iron supplements and I'm still having this issue. That said, a good thing is that my wife has no problems and I am able to focus on her pleasure, which I'm sure she appreciates. She said many would find my ability to spend so long having sex a good thing. I told her it is only a good thing if it is on purpose; spending an hour an a half trying to finish and not being able to is not what others are wishing for.
