Choice between hysterectomy or D&C for bleeding

I was wondering if anyone could help me with more information. My current hemoglobin (1 month ago) is at 7.2, they have found multiple uterine fibroids, thick lining, and a possible large polyp. The gynecologist tells me my next period will be extremely heavy again, and has given me the option of a D&C with an IUD implanted or a hysterectomy. Any advice on which to choose? I need to let her know soon, as she wants this done by the end of the month.

A D&C isn't a permanent procedure. If I had a choice between the 2 I would go with a hysterectomy (leaving the ovaries if I had the option for hormone purposes). I just had a Uterine Ablation due to heavy periods each month that are causing me to be anemic. I would have much rather just went with the full hysto. If my ablation doesn't work that is my next step. If I were you I would definitely just go with the hysto and be done with it. D&C will stop your periods for a while but it's not permanent.
