Post Got into a fight.. seeking medical advice.

Hello.. Recently I got into a fight at my highschool (Monday, May 12th,2003) and Im seeking medical advice. First with the adrenaline still pumping, I had a swollen cheek, and a cut below my jaw, now the side effects are kicking in. Walking home from being told I was suspended, I felt a little drowsy and found myself spitting up blood. Later on, I found that *swallowing* fluids made the side of my cheek tingle and ache. Couple days past, that is fine now but im faced with other problems.

I have a condition where when I push down around the left side of my face, It hurts my teeth. My teeth feel completly abonormal (Front two, and 2-3 to the left side). I cannot chew very tough foods such as steak (It was pretty tough, mind you) - and brushing my teeth brings an abnormal sensation to my teeth, asif they were false or somthing. Basically what im concerned about is how when pushing beside my nose, I can feel the nerves in my front teeth ache. This has caused me in some cercimstances, to talk out of the side of my mouth on a bad habbit, to avoid pain - I presume. Im not really sure. Well, the correct medical advice would be "Go to the doctors", however I dont ever go to hospitals, so im seeking information on what is posibly wrong, and then if its bad, move on from there. Any information? (If I havnt terribly confused you already) - Thanks for your time.

(Sorry for the spelling errors, Im incredibly tired and its showing in my neglegence)

I am not a Dentist but I do work in a Dental Office, and I'm very concerned about what kind of damage has been done to your teeth structure all through your jaw line.....I wish you had gone immediately, but since you haven't, I hope you please go for some Xrays immeditely! You may have so seriously injured some of your root structures and nerves that you may permanently lose many of your teeth. You may have infections brewing that could spread throughout your body too.

Also, you sound like you need to speak to someone about your extreme anger and anxiety or depression....your chemicals levels sound like they are OFF to me, and you could find great relief emotionally by finding the correct medication to settle you down and bring you back to feeling NORMAL!

Good Luck!

Hey! My best advice is to go see a dentist fast! If something is wrong, then you have to do something about it
Best of luck and I hope you feel bettr very soon!

As a teacher, I know that usually both students get suspended in cases of fights, however, you sound like you sufferred serious injury, and you should not only visit a physician, but you should also see an attorney. If your injuries can be proven to be a result of the fight, and you were not the instigator of the fight, you or your parents can cover any medical bills related to this incident.

You need to talk to your parents about your physical trauma. Furthermore, if you were a victim, let them know - but if you with the perpetuator, then the least that can happen is that your parents take care of a medical condition that may cause serious irreperable damage to you now or in the future. I know they must be both angry and dissappointed in you, but trust me when I tell you, they don't want to see you pay for this for the rest of your life and they do love you enough to give you the proper medical treatment. Once you are 18 and no longer in school, their insurance will no longer pay for you - so seek medical condition immediately.
