| Prinzmetal's Angina
I was diagnosed with Prinzmetal's angina 18 months ago, and I continue to have problems. I have had 11 caths, several stress tests, and many hospital admissions. During the course of my treatment, I have had 4 stents placed which are currently patent, with the exception of a diagonal branch which is now 70% occluded. I am taking an ACE inhibitor, Beta blocker, anxiety medication, medication for depression, etc., etc. While I seem to be doing better the past two months, I still have episodes of chest pain at least two to three times a week. Some occurrences can last anywhere from an hour or two to 2 to 3 days in length. I would like to hear from anyone who shares this disorder -- in particular, have you been able to return to work? My doctor has placed me on disability indefinitely which is extremely frustrating. Is there any hope that the disorder will eventually resolve itself, or will it be something I will have to live with for the remainder of my life? I appreciate your sharing your experiences. Thank you.
