Does anyone know why cold weather causes angina?
I get it far worse from breathing sub freezing air than from stress or physical activity. It causes immediate pain. Any know the mechanism and why only some of us get it?
Re: Does anyone know why cold weather causes angina?
In answer to my own question, it turns out the cold air causes a sudden temperature drop in the lungs and the blood there, and the cold blood then causes a constriction in the heart, hence the pain, as it exascerbates the existing flow problems.
