My way of preventing panic attacks
Hello everyone, I'm new here. I've suffered from anxiety disorder for some time now and the worst experience I've had is panic attacks. I want to share here some methods I have found effective in the prevention of panic attacks:
Distraction and meditation - We need to stay away from anxious thinking for as much of the time as possible, that's very important. By taking part in activities which capture our interest fully, even something as simple as doing a puzzle, we can take a great burden off our minds. Meditation can increase a sense of inner peace, and enhance the mental skills we need to retrain our focus.
Diet - It's very important to get the right balance of carbohydrates, proteins and fats according to our specific body type at every meal. We must always be sure to include adequate protein, and to keep our blood sugar levels as even as possible throughout the day.
Relaxation - We must actively enter into deep relaxation every day for a good period of time. There are all kinds of approaches to this, it's best to try everything and see what works best for you as an individual. I personally like hypnotic audio very much.
Exercise - This gets our bodies working better overall, and it allows us to come face to face with similar bodily sensations as we experience during panic attacks but in a more comfortable or non-threatening context. This enables us to cope better with the fear we have when we think an attack is coming on, and to stop the attack before it gets going.
