Anxiety and lightheadedness?????? - Anxiety Message Board

Does this sound familiar with anyone....

I started to feel anxiety last night and then all of a sudden, I started to feel very lightheaded to where I could do nothing but lie down. Can axiety cause that? You know, you get that butterfly feeling in your stomach. Can anxiety cause you to feel nauseated also? What do you do for it besides

prescription drugs?

yes it can!! mine started dec 21st, starting with an inner ear infection,felt really weird but not dizzy,nauseated,spasms in my temples,my left arm felt numb, thoght i was having a heart attack or stroke or something,2 weeks later blew my nose and ruptured my ear drum well ever since then have felt this way off and on everyday since , had blood work done,cat scan everything fine,said it was anxiety,im about ready to go back but dont want to be put on medicine. im looking for the book been there,done that,do this by sam ***** going to try that people on this post said its real good, might want to try that before meds!!!good luck

Are you saying that your started with an inner ear infection? I don't have that.

It doesnt need to start with an inner ear infection. It is a very common symptom of anxiety disorder. Actually what happened to me a couple months ago was similar to what you are describing except I was feeling faint all the time. I went to my doctor for it. She ran numerous tests i.e. a series of blood work, blood pressure, EKG, neurological and everything turned out normal. Basically I was causing it myself by worrying about it. Of course I never felt that way until i had my first panic attack. Now I have a fear of fainting. So yes it is normal to feel lightheaded but I would still check it out with a doc if you keep feeling that way.

When I am in a full blown anxiety attack I will get very lightheaded and I will see spots and my ears will ring it last like a min and then it will go away. I feel so whiped out after it happens and it only lasts a min. I also get nausea sometimes when I have an attack but that hasn't happend in a long time. Wich is a good thing!
