 new to board... anxiety?
hey, this is my first post on this board, so i will tell you a little about me.
My name is Matt and im 19 years old. For about the last 6 months or so every few days i will feel very short of breath, headaches, nausia at times, not as alert as i normall am -- kinda spacy i guess,deressed at times,not being able to sleep at nights, ill start thinking of one thing and it will lead to something else wrse to think about it seems. Alot of the times this happens ill start thinking i have some horrible disease or that im going crazy because things didnt use to be like this, and when i start thinking that things just get alot worse. I started looking my symptoms up on the internet and all and that made things even worse because alot of theese symptoms seem to be with hundreds of diseases, and maybe i have the worst one it seems.
Just recently over the last week or so ive been getting bad chest pains and headaches that seem like something is pressing on the sides of my head. Sometimes this will last for 3 or 4 days in a row before kind of leveling out some. A few nights i have waken up in the middle of the night and it will seem like i cant breathe and ill suddenly wake up and gasp for air. This is very scary for me because i have been in very good health my whole life, why does all of this start recently?
The first night i woke up gasping for air and thinking i couldent breathe i went straight to the emergency room because shortly after i woke up i got very cold and started shaking. When i got to the emergency room, they took my blood presure and heart rate and all and told me it was an anxiety attack, and that is what started me to search for someplace like this. i have read a few posts, and alot of you share the same symptoms as me, but at the same time i want to think, well maybe i have the same symptoms, but i have some bad disease that is alot worse than anxiety.
With the chest pains, it will sometimes feel like something is pushing from the inside, or a sharp pain, or kind of sore, it is hard to explain, but it dosent feel good. It has just been worse the last few days, so have the headaches.
Does this same thing happen to anyone else? it seems to get alot worse when i am alone. and i will start worrying about everylittle feeling i get and think the worst of it and then i almost want to rush to the hospital incase something is really wrong. and the symptoms get worse when no one is around too. but maybe it is because that is when i think of them and harp on it.
I went to the family doctor, well hes not really a family doctor because ive moved around alot when i was younger, but the doctor i go to, and he said it was fairly normal and all of my vital signs and all were great, and he thinks that it is all of the stress and all from being away from home and in college and all of the changes that i have been through recently.
When they say that this is pretty normal, it still gives me doubts because i dont think that feeling like this is normal The doctor gave me a prescription for .5mg of Kilopin. *spelling?* is anyone else taking this? i dont want to stop typing, but i know if i go much further no one will want to read it, i havent filled the prescription yet, but i think i am going to tomorow.
any replies and encouragment or storys about yourself thats like mine would be greatly appreciated....please help me
