Im looking for people who can tell me what foods have helped them control their anxiety problem
I take meds for it as it is (beta blockers) but i feel its not enough, i need something to control my mood and for me to have a feeling of "stableness" inside my mind!
My anxietys taken over my life, my social phobia has gone up 50% and Im becomming desperate!
Ill try anything and suggestions will be most welcomed
I try relaxing but it makes me worse lol if im hype and steamed up then my problem of eye contact aint that bad
my doctor doesnt want to prescribe me any real drugs for anxiety, i just need something to help me feel calm in public without totally freaking out
Im really stuck and counsellings not for another month.
how do i go about seeing a behaviour therapist? through counsellors?
Well it's not a food...but I always found that if I drank water...the colder the better, that it seemed to really help calm me down.
I know it sounds simple, but it worked...at least it worked for me.
ahhh yeah cold water especially from fridges at work is an option and i havent even realised it. i wondered why i was hooked on eating ice cubes, maybe cos its how they made me feel during a social situation in or out of home. thank you for that
I don't know about foods that help, but I do know about one that makes it worse, at least for me. And that is anything that has caffeine in it. I have been off caffeine for 7 months because I'm pregnant. My anxiety level has been so much less. I never thought it would make such a big difference. The reason I went off was because I developed an aversion to coffee, coke, tea, when I was having morning sickness, and I just decided not to start back. Oh, and because I'm pg, I've not been on any meds for the last 7 months, so now I have hope that I might one day be able to go off the meds for good.
