Blood Tests - please advise

Have 'suffered' for the past year and a half with:

Bad chest tightness/pressure
Shortnesss of breath
racing pulse when I stand or do any activity
blurry vision
strange neck pressure
**(although my first noticeable symptom was a very low HR - 48bpm)**

Have been told by numerous docs and specialists that my heart and lungs are fine after numerous tests in the UK: ECG's, stress ecg, echo, chest X-ray, blood tests, 24 hr ecg etc.

Have since moved to West Africa where my symptoms seem worse than ever and have decided to go to the docs here and ask for a whole range of blood tests to try and explain my symptoms (anxiety really doesn't seem likely to me although I admit that heart disease is equally unlikely - only 26, normal cholesterol, normal BP, normal test results, don't smoke, eat healthily, am not overweight and have no strong history of heart disease in the family).

Can anyone suggest anything they should be checking for?

I've already had cholesterol and thyroid checked but what other blood tests could I get done?
Any advice would be very much appreciated.

All the best to you all.

Re: Blood Tests - please advise

Soodle,

I'm sure they've probably already tested you for anemia, but if not you might ask for a CBC. My Dr. thought I was anemic, like I said in the other post, but my hemoglobin was only borderline low. Not low enough to be causing symptoms. Here is a list of symptoms from a pamphlet my Dr. gave me on anemia.

Symptoms of anemia:
Extreme fatigue
Weakness
Shortness of breath
Confusion or loss of concentration
Rapid heart beat(tachycardia)
Dizziness or fainting
Pale skin, including decreased pinkness of the lips, gums, lining of the eyelids, nail beds and palms
Feeling cold
Sadness or depression

Another test my Dr. mentioned was adrenal gland testing.
Best of luck

these problems can be caused if you breathe with rapid shallow panting, try breathing deep and slow, the stomach should come out as you breathe in
