I have anxiety!

I am on Lexapro for depression, but it doesn't really seem to help w/my anxiety. I am not a good sleeper and at night I wake up and I have heart palpitations and sometimes I can't fall back asleep because of them. It hurts my chest and I end up being tight in the morning. This only happens during the night, but I do know I'm anxious all the time. I have heard of Buspar, but I'm wondering if i should talk about trying it or what I should do. And if anyone has any tips how to get a peaceful night sleep let me know.

Re: I have anxiety!

That could be other things as well. My mom experienced those symptoms and it ended up being sleep apnea. Less likely for you because you're already depressed but it's probably worth checking out.

Re: I have anxiety!

to halls, upping the lexapro dose may help, if you snore heavily it may be sleep apnea, ask at a sleep disorders lab, an overnight sleep study is usually needed

Re: I have anxiety!

sometimes these anti depressants have adverse reactions and one of the most common is restlessness which can make it very difficult to fall asleep or stay asleep, I know cuz I had lots of problems with sleep with lexapro and a few others. One thing that helped was taking the pill 2 hrs before getting into bed, for me anyway, the restlessness started within 30 minutes of taking it and when I went to bed the restlessness was about over with and the sleepiness would take over, didn't happen everytime but most of the time.

Re: I have anxiety!

I take my Lexapro in the morning and take one and a half pill. I am now taking Ambien for a while until i can figure out what I am going to do. I just can't sleep at all and it is killing me!
