I have been under a lot of stress and have lost almost 20 lbs over a 3 mo period. I'm attributing it to this but I've had so many people ask me if there is something wrong with me that now I'm a little worried. This of course doesn't help my stress. It's like a vicious cycle. I can't get into my doctor until next week.
When my panic attacks and anxiety where at their worst, yes I did lose a lot of weight.
I was just so hyper and scared most of the time that I didn't want to eat and when I did, I'd get sick soon afterwards and lose it all anyway.
I'm no expert, but at least for me the answer was yes, you can lose weight due to anxiety and or stress.
Same here. I lost a lot of weight the year of my divorce and the most stressful time of my life. It was about 25 lbs. I couldn't eat because my stomach was always in knots, and when i did eat it went right through me. Stress always makes me lose weight.
Thanks for the replies. That makes me feel much better. I just keep thinking maybe there is something wrong and everyone asking me if there is doesn't help any. I only eat once a day but it is a balanced dinner. I pick during the day and cut out all junk food and soda. So, I know that is probably why it is just starting to bother me. I like that I've gotten skinny I just wish everyone would stop bugging me about it.
