| Re: Exercise causing problems?
Actually, everyone, heavy weight lifting in particular is extremely taxing on the nervous system. It places several demands upon your body to repair and recuperate. Its been understood that it can definitely worsen pre-existing anxiety or create new anxiety. I myself noticed this a lot when I was lifting weights regularly...I always had a tendency to overdue my workouts, or a least it seemed that way, because I had much difficulty recovering adequately and always felt not quite right for a few days afterwards. I would recommend either one of two things
1) Weightlifting should be done in moderation, no more than 3 days a week and never going to failure on any set, to be sure that you don't overtrain which will definitely wear down your nervous system and cause greater anxiety.
2) Stick to only doing cardio like jogging, walking, swimming, or yoga...A good cardio workout will actually help relieve stress and anxiety which is a great thing for sufferers.
