Paxil? - Anxiety Message Board

Has anyone been on Paxil and goten good results? Have you gotten any side effects? I am going to be starting that medication and was wondering about those kind of things.

I was on Paxil quite a while back. I do know that it was a great help for my social anxiety. I'm sure it was good for depression or I wouldn' t have stayed on it so long. The only side effect that I truely couldn't handle was the weight gain. But hey, I've heard of some people that take it and have lost weight. You would have to try it to see how it works for you. My sister is on Paxil now, and she is a completely different person. I love it!!! She is happy and kind and not depressed at all. She's been on it for about a year and hasn't encountered any side effects. She has a learning disability and, without medication, often spaces out. With the medication her attention span is longer and she is much more pleasent!!

Thank you for your replies. I am always afraid of the side effects I will get from drugs...guess that goes along with my anxiety. I just wanted to make sure people experienced more positives than negatives with paxil. Thanks for sharing.
